Every time Cassidy Bayer has dove into the water this A meet season, she has broken the Gator record for whatever stroke she is swimming. And now, she's just 0.26 from breaking the NVSL record for 11-12 Butterfly -- a record currently owned by the renowned Janet Hu, who is the most dominant female swimmer in NVSL history.
Cassidy already owns one individual NVSL record (9-10 fly), and as an 11 year old, has lots of opportunities during the next season and a half to set and lower the record.
In Saturday's meet against Wakefield Chapel, Cassidy lowered her team backstroke record from 34.02 to 33.27 -- a full three quarters of a second faster than two weeks ago when she set it.
She then lowered her fly record from 30.61 last Saturday to 30.28 now -- and staring directly at the 30.03 that is the NVSL record. When she swims on July 9th, all Gator eyes will be on the timing board above lane 3.
