Gators Race to Pizza at Annual "Green and White" Meet

By Special Correspondent David Ruppe

Gator swimmers beat the heat and offered plenty of excitement at their annual intra-squad Green and White meet Tuesday night. The green swim caps beat the white of course. Or did White beat Green? Regardless, there was free pizza for everyone afterward.
And there were plenty of time cuts during the meet. Hudson Ward made the biggest chop, besting her best time by 13.10 seconds to reach 108.65 in the Girls 9-10 50 breaststroke.
We're talking maximum effort by this Green swimmer
Other large cuts were made by:
Harrison Kingsley, Boys 8&U 25 free, -10.11 to reach 34.75; Lucy Waid, Girls 8&U 25 free, -6.11 (33.78); Isabella Kingsley Girls 11-12 50 free 4.02 (39.70); Alexandra Myers, Girls 8&U 25 back, -7.38 (37.53); Lucy Waid, Girls 8&U back, -6.62 (37.72);Anna Starr, Girls 8&U back, -7.65 (38.16); Kiersten Gordon, 8&U back, -7.02 (40.11); Catie Hicks, Girls 9-10 50 back, -9.10 (105.88); and Hudson Ward, Girls 9-10 50 breaststroke, -13.10 (108.65).
Grace McGee ponders that eternal question: plain or pepperoni?
IM Something to Watch

Hardy Gator IM swimmers continued to battle for leadership in the grueling but exciting four-stroke event that is swum only at B meets and the annual IM invitational (set for July 25).

Boys 13-14 Clark Bayer cut 7.82 to post a 121.05 in his 100 IM, placing second on the ladder just ahead of Andrew Baker.  TJ Heck, meanwhile, extended his dominance in the age-group cutting 1.46 to 115.45. Girls 13-14 Sheridan Phalen and Taylor Makin each chopped 2 seconds down to 1.16.64 and 1.17.15.  Boys 15-18 Cameron Morey currently has the team's fastest time this season at 1.13.52 seconds. Parker Fulghum and  Anna Fracasso of Girls 15-18 are tight around 1.19 seconds.

The Best Cap award should go to this White Team member: Ginny Grubbs
